GUEST ROOMS are an interesting arrangement of terrace gardens, stairs, and rooms. Views from windows and doors are private and usually include an interesting vista. They are not appropriate for young children and infants. Children older than twelve 12 are welcome.
Baths are all en suite, which means that they are a part of the guest room, accessed through the room only, sometimes located a few steps higher than the sleeping area. Baths have walk-in showers. Rooms have balconies and nearby or attached gardens. Some have a downtown view.
We began as an adventure destination, combining our Caribbean campground with the townhouse in the city and ended up being one of the best romantic hotels in Merida. It is still a belief that travelers do not come to Yucatan to watch television and that guest’s smartphones and computers can pull in as much streaming news and video as needed.
The city is filled with free nightly cultural events, many found two to four blocks from Casa Mexilio. The café life is very European.
