Low Class, Loud and Rowdy

Even the oldest  and most historic coffee shop in Merida has fallen to the ‘gentrification’ of our Santiago neighbourhood.   The city fathers think that this will pull exiled, and young Meridians from the northern burbs, back to the center.  That’s the authorities stated philosophy.


Here, in La Viscayena, you must speak to the waiter and your friends in sign language.  The music is so loud and the speakers are so Lo Fi.  





Casa Mexilio would like to offer a different option to a different market.
