Monet’s Japanese Bridge in Merida

June 10, 2017

On this day a few years ago I made my way to the Gare du Nord in Paris to find the train which would take me to Giverny, Claude Monet’s home.

And upon returning home to Merida, the inspiration of that day, the colors, and the magic of the moment, stayed with me, and followed me until it was made real in my own garden.

Here’s what the memory and imagination, in the hands of a good carpenter, created to join Casa Mexilio’s two buildings on the upper level.

We think of Monet every day.
