Framed, they speak to a time when collections mattered.  Now, with the treasures and debris of three generations colliding with plans for the future, the collections speak to a different opening or beginning.  Two grandmothers and a mother, gasped, "Give me space - air - downsize".  And now it is my turn.

L to R : postcards from a time living in Holland - illuminated manuscript bought at a flea market behind the Brussels cathedral - page from a John Calvin French Bible gifted by a librarian girlfriend -  fathers lamp - fishing net ballast from our Carib field station - a stone cat that entered - and a painting of a novice of the black stole convent in Puebla - and a mahogony sugar chest from a time when sugar needed a key for safe keeping.
